ANTIFREEZE TESTER (GLASS TYPE)

●This anti-freeze tester has been manufactured to provide accurate test readings. The float is the critical part of this instrument. Take care of it in handling and use
●TO PREPARE INSTRUMENT FOR USE :
●Remove instrument carefully from card
●Grasp hexagonal side of rubber tip at base of instrument and remove it from glass barrel
●Remove float from glass barrel by slowly pulling longer end of protective Styrofoam strip
●Place float back into barrel, this time without Styrofoam strip.
●Wet inside of glass barrel and re-insert rubber tip.
●Now the anti-freeze tester is ready for use
●TO TEST ANTI-FREEZE SOLUTION :
●Put the vinyl hose of the tester into radiator. Squeeze the bulb and bring up enough liquid so that the float can move freely. Make sure that the top of the float stem doesn’t touch the rubber stopper at the top of the barrel
●Hold tester at eye level in a vertical position. Read the number at liquid’s level on the float scale. On the top section of the float scale read ●Methanol type anti-freezes and on the bottom section read Ethylene Glycol type of anti-freeze
●If engine had been running and is hot, read freezing point on green scale
●If engine is cold, read freezing point on white scale

Note: Use the top section of the float scale to read methanol type antifreeze and use the bottom section to read ethylene glycol type antifreeze
